Life’s Instruction Manual

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

2 Peter 1:3

Do you ever feel that if we just had an instruction manual it would make it a whole lot easier to get life right?

Lol, yeah, me too.

But we were given the most thorough and in depth instruction manual that not only tells us exactly how to operate our lives in the chaos that life throws at us all but also offers real answers to the questions that inevitably pop up and seem to weigh on our hearts and minds and distract us from what is truly all that matters.

God gave us His Word. We were given the Holy Bible.

In the beginning there was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:1-5

We were given direct access to our Creator. The One who made us, made everything, and knows exactly how it all works best.

“For I know the plans I have for you, ” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

The bible is the greatest instruction manual ever written. When I began finding my way to the Lord, and I began to get past my fear of “reading the bible,” I discovered that no matter what I searched for, I found! And with those answers, a peace I had never known before.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

In the world today of instant information and satisfaction, the Holy Bible offers us the same. In it we are told “Ask, Seek, Knock.”

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Matthew 7:7-8

As I’ve drawn closer to God, become mature enough over the years to openly admit when I don’t know something, and basically gotten out of my own way, the entire way that I see life and death and everything in between has changed. So much so that I want to stand up high and shout it out for the whole world to stop what they are doing and to hear!

I am nobody. I am the least of the entire world, no special gifts or offerings to the world. And yet, even I the least of all, has felt God’s love and attention. Even a sinner such as I, has been forgiven and stand as a witness to God’s glory and power and righteousness. I tremble in fear on my knees in the face of His truth.

Those who know your name trust in you, for you Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Psalm 9:10

The Lord always keeps His promises. And as one who has always had more questions than any curious 4 year old with the “why…?” questions, I can assure you, the answers are in our instruction manual!

Have a wonderful and blessed day.
