Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.James 1:2-4
Life hurts! But our faith in God, His Word, His promises, His love; these things heal our hurts and turmoils. Heartbreak, loss, and worries are all part of what God tells us to bring to Him. Struggles, disappointments, and defeats are all proof that we continue to try.
Just after Christmas I celebrated a milestone birthday I never imagined being alive to see. I’ve been asked if I’d ever like to be young again or even 20 or 10 years younger. OH, HECK NO! I’d fight you tooth and nail to leave me right where I am. It was a very long, terrifying and hard (and a fantastic, amazing and wondrous adventure) journey to find my way back to our Father in heaven and I wouldn’t look away for anything.
I have felt the hurts, suffered the heartbreaks and loss. I have failed and been defeated. I used to look at what I went through and think to myself “Somehow I got through that.” Now I see that I didn’t get through anything. God brought me through.
And here is a little more truth:
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.James 1:12
Have a blessed day, full of hope and joy!
