Today’s Devotions – Mark 16:15

Good morning! Today’s Devotions is my way of sharing my own meaningful interaction with God. As I have mentioned to you in past posts, I have this joyful and overflowing need to share with you the happiness I have experienced being forgiven and loved by our heavenly Father.

Today was my first full day off in, well… it seems like ages. I spent the day today making more changes to With Hope & Joy and to improve the entire look, linking and polishing. It’s an ongoing improvement but one I love deeply.

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Mark 16:15

I work 7 days a week (one full time, one part time job) and am raising my incredibly sweet and talented 12 year old daughter alone, and I know I am not the only one hustling, burning the midnight oil to keep it all moving. But I have found, if I wait until I have “time” to spend time with God and His Word, I don’t.

Spending time with God is my priority. So I decided Today’s Devotions would be another way we (you and I) could do just that. Sharing the peace and comfort that we all need and is found in the Word.

Each of Today’s Devotions will focus on one or more, if need be, scripture(s) to pray and meditate with that day, throughout the day. I hope Today’s Devotions does for you what they do for me; bringing God closer each day and having something so perfect, right leading our thoughts each moment.

Now that I have introduced Today’s Devotions, (this was originally the first post of the Today’s Devotions) I would like to share with you the Great Commission. The Great Commission is the instruction of the resurrected Jesus Christ, on a mountain in Galilee, to his disciples to spread his teachings to all the nations of the world.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

The Great Commission is important because the glory of God is important. The word “commission” is the act of passing a responsibility to someone else. I feel that responsibility. I am a sinner and I am forgiven. I spent my life chasing and searching, and yet I was found. I’ve been in pain, felt utter loneliness and confusion and now daily, I feel the radiant joy of the Holy Spirit.

With Hope & Joy is that commission for me. A way to share my own experience with the hope and joy that fills me when I keep my eyes on our Lord. There are many improvements to both this website and most importantly the hastily transcribed Bible studies, broken down into readable sizes. When the thought of sharing my studies and love of our Lord Father online, I couldn’t slow down.

Stick with me, we shall have it all smoothed out and peaceful in no time at all. Please feel welcome to comment or share your own thoughts here or you can leave me a private message through the Contact Me page or on my About Me page.
