Discipleship, Seeking God

Discipleship, is a journey I hope you will join me on. Being transformed into the likeness of Jesus, on purpose.

Previously:

Seeking God is the most rewarding effort I have ever in my life put forth. Without fail, seeking God brings a peace to my soul, settles my personal chaos and highlights the beauty and joy that so often become hidden in or behind the worries and concerns of the moments or days.

This is the 10th post in the Discipleship series and again, I want to remind you that these Bible studies are simply my way of sharing my own journey with Christ and an offering of my own inspiration to you.

But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find Him, if you search after Him with all your heart and all your soul.

Deuteronomy 4:29

I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me diligently find me.

Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually!

1 Chronicles 16:11

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and the one who knocks it will be opened.

You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart.

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.

Lamentations 3:25

With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!

Psalm 119:10

The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Romans 13:9-10

Choosing God by believing in His Son, Jesus Christ; loving God by putting Him first in my life; and loving my neighbors by placing their needs over my own. This is the fulfillment of God’s law.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.

Romans 12:1

“Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

Luke 8:39

There are so many wonderful books and TED talks about coming closer to Jesus, my Savior, but nowhere do I find greater instruction, encouragement and love than in His Holy Word, the Bible.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

John 13:35

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

1 John 3:14

In fact, this is love for God: to keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

1 John 5:3-4

What matters more than anything? Love!

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.

Mark 12:30-31

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
